Korean Master Hand

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Act on Encouragement of Skilled Crafts, by selecting and offering preferential treatment to
Korean Masters who possess the highest levels of skills in industrial sites, it aims at improving awareness of skilled
technicians among general citizens, contribute in establishing a competence-based society, have skilled technicians feel
proud, and create a culture of respecting skilled technicians by the state, society, schools, and companies.

  • Purpose of establishment

    Daehung Softmill CEO Kim Dae-in received the highest
    honor of skilled workers ‘Korean Master Hand’ by the state
    (Ministry of Employment and Labor) in 2011. With this, he
    established the Master Skill Training Institute within the
    company to teach his master spirit and skills to the youths
    of this age, and the Master Skill Training Institute has been
    in operation to contribute to the nation and society by
    fostering human resources and creating jobs.

    Work-learning
    program training

    This is a system with a goal to foster practical human
    resources in demand by industries by having companies
    hire youths, etc. as employees to receive systematic
    education and training at both educational institutes such
    as schools and at work, which the state (or corresponding)
    industry evaluates the capacities of those who completed
    the education and training, and give certifications (or
    diplomas from partner school).

  • First company to take part in
    work-learning program training

    After being selected as the first leading company for work-
    learning program training from the Human Resources
    Development Service of Korea in October of 2013, Daehung
    Softmill hired youths as full-time employees and has been
    offering confectionery and bakery machine manufacturing
    technology courses from March of 2014. As of June 2022,
    we have performed 15 different training sessions for work-
    learning program training and a total of 46 student workers
    completed training and are currently employed. We plan to
    continue focus on fostering human resources and creating
    jobs through ongoing work-learning program trainings.

“We are helping youths to receive specialized vocational
education so that they can have stable jobs.”

After working as a technician for over 40 years, I received the title of ‘Korean
Master Hand’ in the air conditioning and freezer sector from the government
in 2011. In order to contribute to the state and society with a sense of social
responsibility as a skilled technician, I founded the Master Skill Training
Institute. By teaching my skills that I have accumulated for over 40 years, I
intend to contribute to fostering future human resources for national
development using the Master Skill Training Institute. I will strive to offer
youths the opportunity for stable jobs by connecting them to jobs together
with national industrial development. Please continue to give us your interest
and support. Thank you.
